Dark Disco was built for those who live for the night—the dancers, the music obsessives, the ones who know a good party is a feeling as much as a sound. For over a decade, it transformed 88 Palace, a dim sum restaurant tucked inside a Chinatown mini-mall beneath the Manhattan Bridge, into an underground playground where warehouse culture met global dance floors.
From the hazy glow of hanging lanterns to the thump of a Funktion-One sound system, every detail was intentional. Custom light installations, bar build-outs, and surreal visuals played against the banquet hall’s traditional decor, turning the unexpected into the unforgettable. The party became a magnet for those craving something raw, yet curated—where international icons and local legends collided. Artists including Diplo, A-Trak, MJ Cole, Peaches, CSS, and Kelela soundtracked nights that blurred into mornings.
As Creative Director, Katie shaped the brand, aesthetic, and cultural presence of Dark Disco—crafting its look, feel, and identity beyond just the night itself. She was also the gatekeeper at the door, setting the vibe in real time, ensuring the right mix of energy, faces, and intention.
A good sound system, plenty of shots, and a venue with just the right amount of mystery. Welcome to the party.
